This privacy notice informs you about the most important aspects of how we process your personal data.
Legal Basis & Your Rights
Protecting your personal data is especially important to us. We therefore process your data exclusively based on the legal provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR 2018), the Austrian Telecommunications Act (TKG 2003), and the E-Commerce Act (ECG).
You generally have the rights to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, withdrawal of consent, and objection.
If you suspect a violation of data protection law, you also have the right to file a complaint with the supervisory authority. In Austria, this is the Data Protection Authority.
If you no longer wish to receive a newsletter you subscribed to, you can withdraw your consent at any time.
Purpose & Scope of Data Processing
We process the following personal data during your interaction with us and when using our website, for the reasons outlined below:
A) Personal data you voluntarily provide us during an inquiry, order, or general contact (via contact form, email, online order, in person, or by phone).
This includes:
- General personal details (salutation, first and last name, email address, phone number) for handling inquiries, processing orders, and order fulfillment
- Address data for shipping purposes
- Transaction-related data (item details, invoice amount, order time, etc.) to process orders
- Technical inquiry or order details related to development/production, used for follow-up on technical questions as part of quote preparation or order processing, and as reference for repeat orders, support inquiries, or complaints
- If you subscribe to our newsletter: name and email address for newsletter delivery
- In the case of invoice-based payment: your date of birth, which will be transferred along with necessary transaction data to our financial service provider for credit checks (see also “Data Storage & Disclosure”)
- Bank details which, depending on the payment method, are recorded in our accounting system solely for monitoring payment processes and fulfilling tax obligations
- As part of our ongoing effort to improve our service, we may occasionally request brief feedback from customers. Email addresses stored during inquiries or orders may be used to send invitations to online surveys. Participation is voluntary. If you no longer wish to receive survey invitations, you can opt out via a link in the invitation.
All mentioned data (except your date of birth, which is only used for credit checks and not stored by us) will be carefully stored, used only for the stated purpose, and retained in case of follow-up questions.
B) Information automatically transmitted by your web browser or device. This includes, for example, your IP address, device type, browser type, previously visited website, subpages visited on our website, and the date and time of each visitor request. These types of data help us continuously optimize our website in terms of the shopping process and the services offered. For more information, please also refer to the Cookies section of this Privacy Policy.
Data Storage & Disclosure
According to § 207 para. 2 in conjunction with § 208 para. 1 lit. a of the Austrian Federal Fiscal Code (BAO), tax claims expire ten years after their occurrence.
Tax-relevant records must be retained for seven years in accordance with § 132 BAO.
Therefore, the master and order data you provide, linked with invoice data, will be stored in our enterprise resource planning system for 10 years.
A longer retention period may apply if there is a legitimate interest – for example, due to ongoing customer relations.
We do not share your personal data with third parties without your explicit and revocable consent, unless necessary for the reasons stated below.
In such cases, only the minimum required data will be shared:
- In the case of an order requiring shipping: your address data will be transmitted to the delivery service contracted by us.
- Names and invoice amounts will be provided to our tax advisor to fulfill legal tax obligations.
Secure Data Transmission to Protect Your Information
Your personal data is transmitted during the order process and when creating an account via highly secure 256-bit encryption.
[Credit card data is not stored but is collected and processed directly by our payment service provider for billing purposes.]
We protect our website and systems through technical and organizational measures against loss, destruction, access, alteration, or distribution of your data by unauthorized persons.
Access to your customer account is only possible after entering your personal password. You should always keep your login details confidential and close the browser window after your session, especially if the computer is shared with others.
You can recognize secure areas by the website address starting with “https://” in your browser’s address bar and by the security icon in your browser (usually a key or lock symbol).
Web Analytics
Our website uses features of the web analytics service Google Analytics, provided by Google Inc. (“Google”).
Cookies (see the “Cookies” section) are stored on your device to analyze how you use the website. The information generated by these cookies is generally transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there.
However, by enabling IP anonymization for Google Analytics on our website, we ensure that your IP address is not stored by Google.
It is initially transmitted to Google Analytics in its original form for evaluation purposes but is then anonymized by Google before being stored.
Our legitimate interest under the GDPR is to improve our website and services. Because we value our users’ privacy, all user data is processed in a pseudonymized form.
Cookies
Our website uses so-called cookies. These are small text files stored on your device via your browser. They do no harm. Cookies do not store any information that would allow conclusions to be drawn about your identity. However, personal data may be linked to the information stored in cookies.
We use cookies to make our services more user-friendly. Most of the cookies we use are deleted from your device after your browser session ends (so-called session cookies). Other cookies remain on your device and enable us to recognize your browser during your next visit (persistent cookies). These allow us to greet you by name and save you from re-entering your password or filling out forms again.
Our website uses the following categories of cookies:
- A-Cookies (__utma)
These help determine how often a visitor accesses our website. They remain on your device permanently, as your first visit serves as a reference point. - B- und C-Cookies (__utmb, __utmc)
Used to determine the duration of a website visit. When visiting our website, a B-Cookie records the start time, and a C-Cookie records when you leave. B-Cookies expire at the end of the session; C-Cookies about 30 minutes later. - Z-Cookies (__utmz)
Track how visitors find our website — e.g., which link was clicked, which search engine and keyword were used, and from which country the visit originated. These expire about six months after creation. - T-Cookies (__utmt)
Used to throttle the request rate. These expire after about 10 minutes. - _gid und _ga-Cookies
Used to distinguish users. _ga is stored for 2 years, _gid for 24 hours. - _gat-Cookies
Used to limit request rates. These are stored for about 1 minute.
You can prevent the storage of cookies by adjusting your browser settings. However, please note that if you do so, you may not be able to use all features of this website to their full extent.
